Here is my review of the recent Keith Haring exhibition. I thought the exhibition period was quite long, but it has already come to an end. While we see Keith Haring’s work everywhere—especially here in New York, where he is one of the most visible artists alongside Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat—it’s rare to see his solo exhibition on such a grand scale.
Fortunately, there was a great opportunity at The Brant Foundation, a landmark art space in the East Village. Founded by art collector Peter Brant, this private art foundation is one of New York's premier contemporary art spaces, presenting only a select number of exhibitions each year. With exhibition spaces spanning three floors and open, high ceilings, it is perfect for installations and sculptures, making it one of the most unique gallery spaces in New York.
The Brant Foundation is pleased to present a comprehensive solo exhibition of works by Keith Haring at its East Village space. This landmark exhibition spans all three floors of the foundation, bringing together Haring’s iconic subway drawings, large-scale painted tarps, and dynamic sculptures from the 1980s.
The exhibition highlights Haring’s unique ability to blend street culture with high art, addressing universal themes of love, life, and social activism. By utilizing the foundation's soaring ceilings and expansive layout, the presentation offers a rare, immersive look into the sheer scale and energy of Haring's brief but profoundly influential career.

브란트 파운데이션은 이스트빌리지 공간에서 키스 해링의 포괄적인 개인전을 개최하게 되어 기쁘게 생각합니다. 이번 기념비적인 전시는 재단의 전 3개 층에 걸쳐 진행되며, 1980년대 해링의 상징적인 지하철 드로잉, 대형 타포린(방수포) 회화, 그리고 역동적인 조각 작품들을 한자리에 모았습니다.
이번 전시는 거리 문화와 순수 미술을 결합하여 사랑, 삶, 그리고 사회적 행동주의라는 보편적인 주제를 다루었던 해링의 독창적인 능력을 조명합니다. 재단의 높은 천장과 탁 트인 공간 구조를 활용한 이번 전시는, 비록 짧았지만 깊은 영감을 남긴 해링의 예술 커리어의 엄청난 규모와 에너지를 생생하게 몰입하여 감상할 수 있는 흔치 않은 기회를 제공합니다.

This wraps up my tour of the Keith Haring exhibition. This was actually my second time attending an exhibition at this space. Every time I visit, I find myself wishing they would host shows more often; it's a rare kind of venue that functions as a private institution yet carries the distinct vibe of an alternative art space. The layout works incredibly well for installations and experimental art, and it felt like the perfect backdrop for Keith Haring's graffiti works, including his subway drawings and painted tarps.
They seem to present only two or three exhibitions a year, which already has me looking forward to what they will bring us next. Thank you for reading!
이걸로 키스해링전 모두 둘러보았어요. 전 이 공간에서의 전시는 두번째 보는거였는데요. 전시를 좀 자주 해주면 좋겠다 싶을정도로 사설 박물관이면서 대안공간의 느낌이 나는 흔치 않은 장소에요. 설치나 실험적인 작품들도 아주 잘 어울리는 장소이구요. 키스해링의 지하철 그림 천막 그림 등 낙서화들도 아주 잘 어울리는 분위기에요. 일년에 두세개 정도 전시를 하는것 같은데요 다음번 전시는 또 언제일지 벌써부터 기대가 되네요. 감사합니다.
