Today, I’m sharing my review of the MoMA Design Store. While I visit MoMA often, this is actually my first time taking photos of the stores. At MoMA in Manhattan, there is a Museum Store located in the basement of the museum, and right across the street, there is a separate Design Store. They are similar yet slightly different, so I recommend choosing based on your interest, or visiting both if you have enough time.
First, the Museum Store inside the museum offers a wide variety of artist exhibition catalogues, art and design books, postcards, and posters. If you enjoyed the exhibitions or are an art lover, you’ll find plenty to see here. It also has a complete selection of museum souvenirs.
On the other hand, the Design Store across the street feels more like a curated design boutique. Along with basic MoMA souvenirs, it features a wider range of lifestyle objects, kitchenware, and furniture design pieces. It definitely has a stronger design-shop vibe.

안녕하세요. 모마 뮤지엄 스토어 다녀온 후기 올려드려요.
모마는 자주 가지만 스토어 사진을 찍어온건 처음인데요, 뉴욕 맨하탄 모마에는 미술관 지하에 뮤지엄샵이 있구요, 바로 길 건너편에 디자인 스토어가 있어요. 둘은 비슷하면서도 약간 다른데요. 목적에 맞게 골라서 가시거나 시간이 여유있으시다면 둘 다 가보시길 추천드려요.
먼저 미술관 뮤지샵은 전시와 연계된 작가 도록이나 일반 디자인/아트북, 엽서, 포스터 들이 다양하게 있어요. 전시가 좋으셨거나 미술 애호가이시면 볼게 아주 많은 부분이에요. 미술관 관련 ㅣ념품들도 빠짐없이 있는편이구요.
길건너 디자인 스토어에는 기본적인 모마 기념품들과 함께 디자인 셀렉샵 으낌의 생활 오브제, 키친 주방 용품, 가구 디자인 오브제 등이 더 다양하게 들어가 있어요. 디자인샵 느낌이 더욱 강하게 나는 곳이에요. 오늘은 일단 뮤지엄샵 리뷰 드리구요, 다음번엔 디자인 스토어도 천천히 둘러볼게요.
And here’s an important tip: you can access the MoMA Museum Store directly without a museum admission ticket. If you realized you forgot to buy something, you can easily go back just for the shop. After passing through the bag check at the entrance, you'll see the stairs leading down to the basement on your left. So, you don't need to worry at all if you are only planning to visit the museum store.
그리고 중요한점, 모마 뮤지엄샵은 모마 건물 들어가서 입장권 없이 바로 들어가실수 있어요. 잊어버리고 안사오신게 있으시다면 뮤지엄만 따로 다시 가실 수 있는 구조에요. 출입구에서 가방체크 먼저 하시고 들어가시면 바로 왼쪽에 지하로 내려가는 계단이 있으니 내려가시면 되세요. 그러니 뮤지엄샵만 가시는걸 따로 걱정 안하셔도 되세요.
First, I checked out the art souvenirs. There is a wall completely filled with small art posters. They are printed on thick, sturdy high-quality paper, making them the perfect size for home decoration. They are priced around $18. These small prints look great framed or simply placed on a table for a natural look. Since they are all high-quality prints, they are definitely worth collecting. I heard the most popular ones are by Van Gogh, Monet, and Andy Warhol.
아트 기념품 먼저 살펴 보았어요. 한쪽 벽면을 가득 채우고있는 작은 아트 포스터에요. 빳빳하고 두꺼운 고급 종이에 인쇄되어 집안 데코레이션 용으로도 좋은 사이즈들이에요. 가격은 대략 18불 정도 하고 있네요. 액자에 넣어서 걸어도 좋고, 그냥 내추럴하게 테이블 위 장식으로도 좋을 작은 프린트들이에요. 모두 고퀄리티 프린트라 소장가치 있어요. 가장 인기많은게 고흐, 모네, 앤디워홀이라고 하네요.
Next up were the large, poster-sized art prints. They are quite big, making them perfect for framing and hanging on the wall. At around $24, the price is very reasonable for their size. They mainly feature famous masterpieces and are sold rolled up. These are also high-quality prints that are well worth collecting. If buying expensive artwork feels a bit burdensome when decorating your home, this would be a great alternative.
다음은 포스터 크기의 아트월 포스터였어요. 사이즈가 제법 큰편이라 액자나 표구해서 걸어놓으시기 좋은 사이즈였어요. 가격은 대략 24불로 크기대비 괜찮은 가격대였어요. 유명한 명화 위주로 구비되어있었구요. 포스터라 말려있는 형태로 판매되고 있었어요. 이것도 역시나 퀄리티 좋은 프린트라 소장가치 있어보이네요. 인테리어시 비싼 그림 사기 부담스러우면 요 방법도 좋을것같아요.
The back wall is completely filled with exhibition catalogues. They have the catalog and related books for the current Frida Kahlo exhibition, as well as a wide variety of general design and art books. It felt like they had catalogues for almost every famous artist. The collection is so extensive—almost like a small art library—that you could easily spend hours browsing if you have the time.
가장 안쪽 한쪽 벽면은 가득히 미술 도록이 진열되어있어요. 지금 현재 전시중인 프리다 칼로 전 도록과 관련 서적들 있구요, 일반 디자인서적, 아트북등 종류는 상당히 다양하게 구비되어있어요. 유명작가들의 도록은 거의 다 있었던거 같아요. 시간이 있다면 천천히 둘러보아도 좋을 만큼의 작은 아트 도서관급의 컬렉션이 갖추어져 있어요.
This section features the newly released MoMA souvenirs. It’s been a while since they introduced new designs and colors for their tote bags, umbrellas, and tumblers. The colors and designs were all so beautiful that I was almost tempted to buy everything.
The tote bags are thicker than regular canvas bags, making them much more practical and durable. All the colors look great, so I’m definitely going to have to pick up that red one on my next visit. The new umbrella designs are also fantastic, and the tumblers come in brand-new colors that feel very fresh. They also have new reusable shopping bags, coasters, and mugs. The notebooks look great too—it's really making it hard to choose.
이쪽은 이번에 새로 출시된 신상 모마 기념품 섹션이에요. 오랜만에 에코백, 우산 , 텀블러등이 새로운 디자인과 컬러로 출시되었어요. 컬러와 디자인이 너무나 모두 예뻐서 하마터면 넘어갈뻔 했어요. 에코백은 일반 에코백과는 다은 도톰한 두께감으로 훨씬 더 실용적이고 튼튼한 디자인이였구요, 컬러가 모두 예뻐서 아무래도 저 레드컬러는 다음번에 들여와야겠어요. 우산도 새로나온 디자인 모두 좋구요, 텀블러들도 기존에 없던 새로운 컬러라 새로웠어요. 시장바구니, 코스터, 머그컵 모두 신상들 나왔구요. 노트들도 모두 좋던데, 아 고민이 깊어지네요.
Here are the ceramic mugs featuring the iconic "I Love NY" logo, which is a true symbol of New York. Another one is a ceramic mug designed to look exactly like the classic paper coffee cups you see everywhere in the city. Both are reasonably priced, making them perfect as souvenirs or gifts.
뉴욕의 상징 아이러브 뉴욕 도자기 컵이에요. 다른 하나는 뉴욕에서 커피사면 많이 볼 수있는 커피 종이컵 디자인의 도자기컵이요. 모두 가격 나쁘지않아 기념용으로 선물용으로 좋겠어요.
This section features the existing MoMA canvas bags. These two styles are very practical, and they are actually items that I use often.
The black MoMA bag at the top features an adjustable shoulder strap and a zipper closure inside, so I frequently use it as a laptop bag. The bag below it is made of thick canvas and can be used just like a regular handbag, giving it more of a proper bag feel rather than just a basic tote. I have the smaller size with the green bottom, and it's one of my go-to items for daily use. I highly recommend these as souvenirs.
이쪽은 기존 모마 캔버스 백인데요, 요 두종류는 아주 실용적이라 저도 잘 들고있는 아이템들이에요. 위쪽 블랙 모마백은 길이조절 가능한 숄더 스트랩에 안쪽 지퍼마감이라 제가 노트북백으로 자주 애용하고있구요, 아래쪽 백은 두꺼운 캔버스 재질로 일반 가방처럼 사용 가능한 아이템이라 보통의 에코백과는 다른 좀 더 가방 느낌이에요. 저는 바닥이 그린인 저 작은사이즈로 평소 잘 드는 아이템이에요. 기념품으로 강추하는 아이템이에요.
This section has the artist quote tote bags. They feature designs with famous quotes from artists, which makes them highly collectible. There is a wide variety of styles and colors, so you can easily choose one by your favorite artist. The reverse side of each bag features a clean, simple MoMA logo. Since they are very reasonably priced, they are also a highly popular choice for gifts.
이쪽은 아티스트 쿼트 에코백이에요. 아티스트들의 명언이 담긴 디자인으로 역시나 소장가치 높구요, 본인이 좋아하시는 아티스트 백으로 선택하셔도 좋을 다양한 스타일과 컬러가 있어요. 모두 가방 반대쪽은 심플하게 모마 라고 써 있는 디자인이구요. 가격도 부담없는 가격대라 선물용으로도 인기많은 아이템이에요.
This is another popular section: the wall filled with postcards. It’s always a crowd favorite since you can pick up prints of famous masterpieces for just $2. The area is always crowded because they make such great souvenirs, and as expected, they have a wide selection of famous works by Van Gogh, Monet, Andy Warhol, and Picasso. There is a huge variety of designs available, including drawings and the MoMA logo. In the small boxes at the bottom, they also have set items that come with both postcards and envelopes, which would be perfect to use as souvenir cards or group greeting cards.
이쪽은 또 하나의 인기 섹션, 엽서 가득있는 월이에요. 인기있는 명화들을 2달러에 살수있어 언제나 인기많은 아이템이에요. 기념품용으로도 좋아서 항상 사람들이 많구요, 역시나 고흐, 모네, 앤디워홀, 피카소등 명화들이 많이 구비되어있어요. 드로잉이나 모마 로고등 디자인이 상당히 다양하게 준비되어있었어요. 하단 작은 박스에는 엽서와 봉투가 같이 들어있는 세트 상품도 있어 기념카드아 단체 카드로 활용하기에도 좋은 구성이 함께 나와있었어요.
This wall features design items, home decor, and kitchenware. MoMA Store is well-known for its excellent curation, so it’s very famous for unique home interior pieces. There are so many great items for gifts, like clocks and mugs, that this is always the first place I think of whenever I need to buy a present. While there are some high-end products, they also have a good selection of reasonably priced items, offering a wide range of choices. Especially if you love colorful items, there is truly no place like the MoMA Store.
이쪽은 디자인 용품, 인테리어, 주방 용품들이 있는 월이에요. 모마 스토어가 바잉이 좋은편이라 독특한 홈 인테리어 용품들로 아주 유명해요. 시계 머그컵등 선물용으로도 좋은 아이템들이 많아서 저도 선물 사려면 여기먼저 떠올리게 되는것 같아요. 고가의 상품들도 있지만 너무 비싸지 않은 아이템들도 골고루 구비되어있어서 선택의 폭은 다양한편이에요. 특히나 컬러풀한 아이템 좋아하시면 모마샵 만한 곳이 없어요.
This museum store offers a truly diverse range of product categories. There were kitchenware items featuring even more detailed colors and designs. Another wall is completely filled with items like puzzles, chess sets, building blocks, and even children's toys. Since it is much larger than a typical museum shop, the scale here is definitely on a different level.
정말 다양한 상품군들이 있는 뮤지엄 샵이에요. 더욱 많은 섬세한 컬러와 디자인의 주방용품들도 있었구요. 퍼블이나 체스, 블럭놀이 같은 아이템들, 아이들용 놀이 장남감까지 다른쪽 벽면에 가득 있어요. 일반적인 뮤지엄샵 보다는 규모가 훨앀 크다보니 아무래도 규모가 좀 다르긴 해요.
This is a place I often visit not only after viewing exhibitions, but also when I need to buy general gifts or souvenirs. You can find much higher quality and more unique items here compared to ordinary souvenir shops. Even when I need to buy a gift, I find myself coming here often because I can pick up uniquely designed products without breaking the bank. I imagine other New York residents probably feel the same way. Whether you are traveling to New York or just visiting the museum, this is a museum store I highly recommend checking out at least once.
After exploring the shop, I went up to the second-floor cafe to have a cup of hot chocolate to recharge my energy. Normally, you can also just walk into the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden on the first floor, but it was under construction that day. They were setting up a large tent, probably for an upcoming event. This is my latest update on how I've been enjoying MoMA like my favorite neighborhood hangout. 미술관 관람 후 뿐만아니라 일반적인 선물이나 기념품 살때에도 종종 오곤하는 장소에요. 평범한 기념품들보다는 더 퀄리티좋고 유니크한 기념품들을 살 수 있구요. 선물 살 일이 있을때도, 너무 부담스럽지 않으면서 독특한 디자인 제품들 살수있어 자주 애용하게 되는것 같아요. 아마도 저 뿐만아니라 뉴욕에 사시는 다른 분들도 비슷하지 않을까 싶은데요. 뉴욕 여행시나 뮤지엄 방문시 꼭 한번은 방문 해 보시라고 추천드리는 뮤지엄 샵이에요.
