FRIEZE Art Fair New York
May13-17, 2026
The Shed, 545 W 30th St, New York, NY 10001
This is my second posting on Frieze New York 2026. I think the biggest advantage of an art fair is being able to see works by your favorite artists all in one place. I was so thrilled to see a piece by Cinga Samson, whose work I recently saw at White Cube. I loved that exhibition so much that I actually went back to see it twice. There’s really nothing more exciting than discovering a new artist.
I also love how Frieze supports emerging galleries and non-profit spaces through its Focus section. It was impressive to see the fair creating more opportunities in such a competitive market where it’s hard to survive. Providing space, support, and exposure to young galleries is a fresh approach that will surely make the art world much richer in the future.
This wraps up my tour of Frieze 2026. Even though I tried to be selective with my photos, there are still so many that I couldn't share. With several major art fairs happening this month and galleries opening excellent shows to match, May is packed with things to see. Many galleries have also extended their hours for gallery tours. I visited Chelsea this week, and I'm planning to head to Tribeca next week. Thanks to New York’s vibrant art scene, it’s going to be a very busy month for me. Thank you for reading.
